Idea: Diversify the tech industry by enabling micro-donations for simple actions made on Github.
Throughout my Computer Science program in college, I was one of the few women in my classes. I volunteered at a non-profit called Code Ed, which aims to teach Computer Science to middle school girls in low-income, underserved communities.
How does it work? A developer would authenticate their Github and Braintree accounts with Gitback. Then, set up a mirco-donation payment rate (example: $0.03 per push command) for a Github repo. For each new push of code to that repo, a donation is made to Code Ed. This allows a company to promote their technologies, while contributing to the effort of gender parity.
